How to capture desktop audio
▼Chrome / Edge Best support
- Click Start Capture below
- In the share dialog, choose what to share (tab, window, or entire screen)
- Look for the audio checkbox at the bottom of the dialog — this is the step most people miss!
- For a tab: tick "Also share tab audio"
- For entire screen: tick "Also share system audio" (Windows/ChromeOS)
- Click Share
| Share Type | Audio | Checkbox Label |
|---|---|---|
| Browser Tab | ✓ Tab audio | "Also share tab audio" |
| Entire Screen | ⚠ Buggy in Chrome (may fail) | "Also share system audio" |
| Window | ✗ No audio available | — |
Known Chrome bug: Sharing an "Entire Screen" with system audio ticked can fail with "Could not start audio source". This is a Chromium issue, not a problem with this recorder. If it happens, the recorder will automatically retry without audio. For reliable audio, share a browser tab instead — tab audio works every time. Alternatively, enable the Microphone toggle to capture your mic regardless of share type.
